As Strikeforce continues to up their fighter roster, Strikeforce has recently signed former Elite XC Champion KJ Noons. KJ, who is also a boxer is best known for his fights with Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett as well as for his feud with the bad boy of mixed martial arts, Nick Diaz (who was also recently signed to Strikeforce). In an interesting twist, both men are said to make their Strikeforce debut (Diaz has fought in Strikeforce before but is under new contract) at a January 30th Strikeforce event. So, could this finally be the Noons vs Diaz rematch?
The feud between these two men really started after the first fight was stopped by doctors due to the cuts to Diaz served up by Noons. Although the fight was stopped and Diaz lost, it was clear that Diaz was loosing. After the stoppage melee ensued after Diaz continued to attempt to get in Noons face as well as throwing up his Nick Diaz hand gestures. You can view the video footage below.
After this event took place, I’m sure the people over at the now defunct Elite XC were working on rematch as soon as the commotion occurred. This became evident once Elite XC officials let Nick and Nate Diaz into the cage after KJ Noons retained his Elite XC Lightweight against Yves Edwards for a “confrontation” of a possible rematch. During this confrontation, it did not go over well. During a heated back and forth vocal confrontation Karl Noons (KJ’s father) lunged at Nick causing Nate to throw a water bottle at Karl Noons causing a huge uproar as security quickly took the Diaz brothers out of the cage. Obviously if a father wants to kick a pro fighters ass, then their is some bad blood and bad blood makes for good fights so lets hope for the rematch.
