Brock Lesnar seems to be in perfect health

Posted in Brock Lesnar looks healthy as a horse on October 30, 2009 by thatmmaguy

On october 18th Brock Lesnar was spotted at the football game between his Minnesota Vikings and the Baltimore Ravens looking as healthy as a horse. Brock was also seen giving autographs and pictures to some fans. Not too bad for a sick guy. Lesnar also gave an interview in which he sounded fine. So why again did he pull out of his UFC 106 with Shane Carwin? You be the judge and view his october 18th interview below.

So what do you think? Should Brock Lesnar have pulled out of UFC 106?

Brock Lesnar has Swine Flu. Pulls out of UFC 106

Posted in Lesnar has Swine Flu. Pulls out of UFC 106 on October 28, 2009 by thatmmaguy

The rumors are true and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has pulled out of his UFC 106 title defence with Shane Carwin because Lesnar has Swine flu. Another thing that both of these 2 big wrestlers have in common because Shane Carwin also had a strain of the H1N1 virus. Not to fear although MMA fans, this fight will still happen and has so far been postponed for January 2nd of 2010. As a member of the Shane Carwin community, Shane has released statements for his fans who he loves so much and you can find them here at http://www.shane-carwin.com . Be sure to sign up to hear all news about Shane Carwin. He also gives out prizes and autographs quite frequently, I myself have received a personal 8×10 signed autograph UFC presser picture.

Shane McMahon wants to get in the MMA business. UFC is willing to sell 10%

Posted in Shane McMahon wants to get into the MMA business on October 19, 2009 by thatmmaguy

Shane McMahon who is the son of WWE owner Vince McMahon as well as former Vice President of the company. At least he will be until january 10th 2010. Shane McMahon officially resigned on october 16th 2009 and rumor has it the man with deep pockets is interested in investing in the MMA empire. Could that potentially mean that there might be another competitor for the enormous UFC?

I wouldn’t say so because of a recent interview Dana White. Dana White more recently than McMahons announcement had an interview with Bloomburg tv and stated that the UFC was interested in selling 10% of the company. What do you think Shane? Knowing Shane McMahon as a smart business man and a man who most likely realizes that MMA is the entertainment sport of the future, he would look at this opportunity as a great investment. Or he could just go for broke and try his own company or invest in a lesser company like Strikeforce or he could just put his own ego aside and get in with the best company. Cant wait to see the results. You can see the video of Dana White by clicking the link below.

Bernard Hopkins says MMA is gay porn

Posted in Bernard Hopkins calls MMA "gay porno" on October 17, 2009 by thatmmaguy

It seems like Bernard Hopkins is just another man from the boxing world who seems to be threatened by our fast growing aswell as tougher sport. apparently two warriors going to battle is a “gay porno”. One could assume that if a man looks at MMA in such a manner then his thoughts stray a lot further from the average mma fan who considers an MMA bout to be nothing but a battle between two warriors. Get your head out of the gutter ghetto boy!

Strikeforce continues to up their fighter roster

King Mo

King Mo

It has turned out that nipple rings and all,  class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=””>Strikeforce has signed the extremely talented Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal to a 4 fight deal this morning. King Mo who has recently made very short work of veteran mixed martial artist Mark Kerr in 25 seconds is no joke and only wants to fight the best that Strikeforce has to offer, saying he wants to dive right in with the sharks in the likes of Fedor Emelianenko aswell as light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi.

King Mo first came noticed by our western world when getting into a slight confrontation with former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson on a bus with the likes of Bobby Lashley because King Mo had called Rampage “Bumpage” at one point. This video was sent around the MMA world (and I will show it below) and everyone had thought who is this 4-0 guy trying to mess with Rampage? Is he Crazy?

Not so much. This guy is no joke and should be considered one of the top light heavyweights in the sport of MMA. Not only did he make short work of legendary heavyweight fighter Mark Kerr but he has an extensive background in beating dudes up. This guy wrestled for Oklahoma State and was a division 1 champion in 2003 aswell as a Big 12 Champion. He was also ranked the best wrestler in the United States for 3 years in the 84 kilo weight class. Also seen in 4 out of his 5 fights, he has KO power which added to his wrestling pedigree makes him a very dangerous contender and Strikeforce has made the right decision by signing him.

Like I have said before, the UFC needs to watch out about the ever so growing Strikeforce. Strikeforce just keeps upping the competition and UFC still seems to be at a stand still. It is guys like your Gegard Mousasi and your King Mo that the more powerful MMA promotion should be signing but yet some how are not? Step up the game UFC or else Strikeforce will continue to do the right thing and the UFC/ Dana White will be stuck up in politics when the fans want to see the best fight the best.
